A letter from a friend arrives. Nakao, who receives it, visits the friend. The friend says he found a map of his grandpa’s laboratory. Nakao goes on a trip to look for the laboratory with a different friend. Meandering, jumping, and crawling, the story makes its way forward through idiosyncratic dialogue, cinematic playfulness, and images evoked by objects. Linear time melts, and the door to dreams and unconsciousness opens.
Born in Sumiyoshi-ku, Osaka City in 1979. Has created illustrations and short animated works together with his friend Matsuda since 2009 under the name “Wubarosiermaschine.” Began production of the film “Michikusa” in 2011. Learning from both Dairiki and Miura, directors who are also his friends, his approach involves doing as much on his own as possible when it comes to things like writing, directing, art, sound, cinematography, etc.
