The newest work in the “Performative life” series that expresses the acts of human life in their entirety. The structure of “Noh” is reassembled in a realistic scene. The title comes from the expression “pressing to the heart”, and it means something like “with your back to the wall” or “at the crucial moment”. Basho once took this land as a bridge crossing Lake Biwa and composed a haiku. The modern camera eye takes a silver balustrade as a laneway of two separated countries, and cuts out everyday life as the non-verbal narrow pathway of men and women. (M.J.)
