Within the Himalayan mountains, lay the Manakamana temple, a temple known for granting wishes of pilgrims. To go there, pilgrims had to climb over a 1000 meter elevation that took more than 3 hours. A cable car was built 15 years ago, which now takes people there in mere 10 minutes. Stephanie SPRAY and Pacho VELEZ filmed the people’s expectations, surprises, and fulfillment when going to Manakamana in long shots, creating a unique drama. A film produced by the same directors of ‘Leviathan,’ a film that was most talked about in IFF2013. Winner of the Golden Leopard in the ‘Film Makers of the Present’ section of the 2013 Locarno Film Festival.
