An animated work based on the artist’s childhood experiences. “I hid a calf at the bottom of your cup. If you drink everything you’ll be able to see it!” “The calf is taking a shower”. A father tells a small, gentle lie to his daughter who won’t drink her milk. Even though she is little the daughter can sense the harshness of her father’s reality, and this quiet journey of the imagination becomes a pleasant break for both of them. We are captivated by the power of expression that can develop a fantasy in the details of the everyday.
　

ZHU Yantong

Born in Nanjing China, 1988. After graduating from Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Department of Advertising in 2010, came to Japan and started making short animations. Graduated at Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Film and New Media, Department of Animation in 2014. Major works: THE MAN WHO ATE AN APPLE, HENRY’S RED SHOES.
