Men and women gathered in a room in an apartment. A man who has just returned from buying alcohol senses a subtle tension in the room. The gathering was meant to cheer up their friend Sonoda, but Sonoda himself is not there… A film constructed out of the conversations that expand outward from within a confined space. It features a development that combines languor and tension and exquisitely meshes theatrical tempo dialogue and cinematic direction.
　

OTA Masahiro

Born in Tokyo in 1980. Began making films in 2006 after working as a stage performer. Major works include WARAE (2008) and 2010 Image Forum Festival entry LADY GO (2009). Joint head of drama film unit MATSUDAMASAKO with MATSUSHITA Sachiko.
