MIND MOUNTER

2015 / digital /color / 12min.

A derivative work created out of a collection of old souvenir postcards, it is an experiment that looks at picture postcards as mechanisms of memory sharing. While staying in Germany I collected used postcards bought at flea markets and used bookstores throughout Europe. I was very attracted to the rough printing and texture of the worn-out paper, but I found this strange and wondered why I felt this way. By holding many postcards in my hands I was able to embark on a journey of freely experiencing the memories of people from other countries I had never met.
