S:Filmmakers in Focus 2: Paul SHARITS 2

title

T.O.U.C.H.I.N.G Paul SHARITS

With its flickering colors, insertion of violent images, and soundtrack that repeats “Destroy…Destroy…”, T.O.U.C.H.I.N.G. is considered one of Sharits most representative works. He has said that it was an attempt to go beyond the limitations and illusions of normal films and manifest light as substance/matter. At the same time this program also presents the first Japanese screening of S:Stream:S:S:ection:S:ection:S:S:ectioned, a destructive yet extremely beautiful work in which the damage done to film showing a waterfall gradually increases.
*People with a hypersensitivity to light or other health issues should note that there will be strong flashes of light during this screening.
