In the “Hibi” AUG series, every year for the month of August the filmmaker shoots footage everyday, with the result being a work in which fifteen seconds of footage from each day are assembled in order to create 31 shots. In 2015, the filmmaker spent his time thinking about the Emperor (of Japan). This is a special version that includes footage taken after August and additional monologues and music. (M.S.)
　

MAEDA Shinjiro

Born in 1969. Spanning the fields of experimental film, documentary, and media art, his works have been exhibited at film festivals and exhibitions both in Japan and overseas. Has also created many works in collaboration with other artists in the fields of fine art and theater. Supervisor of the independent DVD label “SOL CHORD.” Professor at IAMAS.
