Based on boyhood experiences of air raids. Memories of the bombing that return more and more vividly with the passage of time continue to provide a powerful stimulus for my creative work and impart an indescribable unease. I cannot forget the expression of a chicken trying to escape the burning air, its cockscomb blazing red as though it were on fire. (T.K.)
