Making movies, is another form of struggling. Just as much as a political demonstration. Of course, relationships with a supervisor, a friend, and their lover are also struggles. The filmmaker says it is a self-contained film, but maybe it is society that is closing itself off. From a normal point of view, the protagonist may be no good. As a result, however, we get an original perspective combining bizarre animation and documentary filmmaking.
　

KAWAKITA Rei

Began making films in his first year at university. Has been creating a series of works he calls “self-contained films” inspired by his investigation of truth in moving images through the animation and self-documentary techniques he used in MIRUMIRU-YUMEMIRU-TONDEMIRU (13). This is the fourth film in this series.
