I want to use a camera to close distances, to put the person I am looking at on film. The photographed body I catch, what will I get from it? We screen IGUCHI Noboru’s overwhelmingly single-minded WABISHABI – “Changing lenses, I close the distance to human beings” (HOSONO Haruomi) – and HARU by NAGAYA Miho, an award winning filmmaker who skillfully inverts the perspective of “a woman as what is seen” and obtains a new “gaze of desire.”

HARU NAGAYA Miho / 1995 / 8mm / color / 56min.
