“E22” : ‘E’ for ‘Ecosystem’ and ‘22’ for the 22nd work in the series.
The filmmaker has been making the “Ecosystem” series for 35 years, and, thinking that he may no longer be able to work with 8mm film, created this work out of some the large amounts of unedited, unused footage he has collected. （K.T.）
　

KOIKE Teruo

Born in 1951. Began making videos in 1978 after working in Iran. Has been creating films in the ECOSYSTEM series since ECOSYSTEM – 1 in 1981, and is currently working on ECOSYSTEM – 23. Received the Film Originality Prize at the 1991 Image Forum Festival, the Jury Prize at RETINA1996, was a member of the jury at the Hungary RETINA Film Festival, and had works screened and curated an exhibition, “Cosmology of moving images”, at the A Coruña Film Festival (Spain) 2014.
