A majestic medium-length work in 8mm film, a medium for which development services ended last year. The words “cloud, insect” in the title have a simple ring to them, but the storytelling recorded in the soundtrack deftly breaks through the “barbed wire” of cliché and heads straight down the main highway of cinema. From the light that plays on the glances of the Laotian children to the blackness of a darkened movie theater, cinema love spreads without restraint.
Born in 1971. After graduating from junior college, worked for a year as a projection engineer at a recording studio before entering the 17th class at the Image Forum Institute of the Moving Image. Has released eight works to date, including “Level Blue” (99) and “Summer Grass 2/10” (08). All works are on 8mm film.
