A work that began with the question, “What kind of film could be made using material from a newspaper?” Text, stocks, weather forecast, head shots, basketball, soccer ball, comics, whole sheets of paper, hands, and so on: I searched for what could be made to move without destroying its source-material nature, kept only the shots that seemed interesting, and recomposed them. If I were to attempt to explain the concept, the image would be “the last gasp of the newspaper as a medium of information”. (S.Y.)
