FUYUZARE

FUYUZARE

2015 / 8mm / color / 26min.

The 10th work by “TEAM 8mm Tenngoku”, this is an attempt at “appropriate degree filmmaking”. This will be the last of their films. As always, the images are shot without using a viewfinder and edited on the camera itself with rewinding limited to this location. The subjects are a house, a cat, and the surrounding scenery. While the title refers to playing around in winter, in fact it was shot a little bit at a time starting in the spring.
How does this footage blend together and collide with the sound created by Maeda, who likes the diffusion of emotions and strives to focus with complete seriousness on sound? As long as the excitement of doing it comes across that’s fine. From this year on we will focus on a more “appropriate degree”; we like the romanticism of this sentimental journey. (H.A., M.S.)
