LETTERS TO MAX Eric BAUDELAIRE

Letters that Eric Baudelaire, a filmmaker whose works have been shown at events such as the Yokohama Triennale, addressed to his old friend Maxim Gvinjia, former foreign minister of the Republic of Abkhazia. But Abkhazia has not been recognized by the United Nations, and thus presumably does not exist as a country. He had expected the letters to be returned to him undelivered, but somehow he received replies instead. Thus began their two-way correspondence. What is a state? What is war? What is family? A record of a close friendship and the history of an unrecognized country told through many letters and beautiful scenes of everyday life in Abkhazia.
