Jonas Mekas said of Andy Warhol that “[he] is taking cinema back to its origins, to the days of Lumiere.” The playfulness and creativity that co-exist in RAIN by the Belgian poet and artist Marcel Broodthaers provides me with similar sense of admiration. The work was produced as part of research on the Lumieres at the Department of Moving Images and Performing Arts, Tama Art University. （N.T.）
　

NAKAJIMA Takashi

Born in Tokyo in 1951. Co-founded Image Forum in 1977 with the aim of conducting distribution, screening, education and publication activities related to film. Served in various roles including editor of “Image Forum Monthly Magazine”. University professor. Main works: ALONG THE SOUTH BAY (71), CESSNA (74), WHITE, HERT AND LIGHTS (14), etc.
