In EMBRACING, a trip in search of a father begins with a remarkable story told by a grandmother. Beauty dwells in the dramatic story and contrasting shots of everyday scenery.
In UDA Atsuko’s MS. FUKUDA, in which the small daily events of university classmate “Ms. Fukuda” accumulate to create a strange sense of closeness similar to a docu-drama, we see the potential of new forms of storytelling. Stories are found, and told.
